There has long existed a disconnect between theory and practice. Aspiration and Control. Democracy is a simple concept. Political parties have corrupted it, made it a vehicle for the enrichment of the few. The plaything of those convinced of their moral and intellectual superiority. In their view those who toil need leadership, not opportunity. Jean Rey, a former President of the EEC Commission summed it up perfectly. Commenting on the 1975 UK EEC Referendum, he said:, "A referendum on this matter consists of consulting people who do not know the problems instead of consulting people who know them. I would deplore a situation in which the policy of this great country (Britain) should be left to housewives. It should be decided instead by trained and informed people".
The fact that the world's problems are caused by those who believe they are trained, informed experts does not trouble the self appointed elite. There are those like John Major and Michael Heseltine who, having taken the electorate shilling, betray their trust by trying to give away their sovereignty. As Professor Sir Vernon Bogdanor has commented: "During the debates in the 1970s, some politicians said no loss of fundamental sovereignty, we could share sovereignty. Now, you can share national sovereignty, as we do in NATO and the United Nations and all sorts of other organisations, but parliamentary sovereignty is an absolute: either Parliament can legislate as it wishes or it cannot legislate as it wishes. It is not a matter of degree, like say baldness. It is something you either have or you have not. You cannot be a qualified sovereign, any more than you can be a qualified virgin – you either are or you are not". Perfectly clear except to those who refuse to respect truth.
Envy was the fourth deadly sin until Marx and Engels harnessed it as a weapon. They intended it to be the instrument of a world wide revolution, the imposition of Socialism. Of course there were flaws in the plan. Socialism is against human nature, has failed every where it has been imposed. For Socialism in any form to exist it must, like religion, declare all non believers heretics. The central issue was always 'who runs the thing?' The answer was obvious to the Upper middle classes who dreamt it up. They did. Not for them the ideas of men like Robert Owen and his nonsense of cooperation. It was and is anathema to leaders of the new religion. The dictatorship of the Proletariat actually meant (and still does) the dictatorship of the elite. Which brings us to Keir Starmer. He is a Fabian. Their programme is Marxist. They disagree only on the means of achieving their aim. Marxists believe in revolution. Fabians believe in the creation (imposition) of the Socialist state by infiltration and manipulation.
As Starmer flits around the world, a Marxist moth attracted to its bright lights, hugs, kisses and dinners of the Davos elite he, contrary to some commentators beliefs, has a plan. The EU is the last hope of Karl Marx. It is an organisation modelled, according to Mikhail Gorbachev, on the USSR. It has a Political Court, toothless Parliament and is ruled by an unaccountable Commission that closely resembles the Politburo. For Starmer, this is the Land of Milk and Honey an Eden. That it's protectionist policies hurt developing countries is irrelevant. Its history of ignoring democratic elections, excellent. It's steady decline in an increasingly Asian Pacific world - no problem. Eden has a fence and Socialists view their creation through red tinted glasses that obscure the blemishes.
When Starmer announced that he had betrayed Britain there were gasps of horror. Why? It is obvious that he and his co-religionists were simply waiting, like good Fabians, for the chance. He has given away Parliamentary Sovereignty, which to be clear, belongs to the people, not parliament or the State. Of course it's all dressed up in double speak, but that's the bottom line of 'Dynamic Alignment' policed by the Political ECJ. The fact that Starmer no longer feels the need to hide his malign intent demonstrates the self belief and confidence of the rulers of EU and now Britain.
Youth opportunity he claims will be good for Britain. The latest Youth unemployment statistics give this the lie. UK 12.8%, EU 14.5%, but of course that hides Italy 19.0%, Portugal 20.7%, Greece 25.2, Serbia, Romania and Spain all over 26%. Oddly even Luxembourg the shiny EU show case and home of the ECJ has a youth unemployment rate of 21.4%. Guess which way the young folk will be moving? So concerned is Starmer by youth opportunity that his government has cancelled funding for Level 7 Apprenticeships. That's the one that funds young people to pursue professional qualifications. Perhaps among all the unemployed EU young there are plenty waiting to come here with 'mutually' agreed qualifications.
Young people, Fishing, Service Industry, Developing Economies, Trade agreements that will fail because of Dynamic Alignment, all worthwhile sacrifices to a Fabian in search of the Socialist Nirvana.
Mrs Badenoch says a Tory government will reverse the agreement. Fine words from the woman who reneged on the promise to scrap EU rules. It, probably, was not her fault. The One Nation rulers of the Party would not let her, and will not let her scrap this either.
Brexit was not simply about leaving the EU. It was about democracy and the individual sovereignty that is the birthright of every Briton. It is now about confronting the existential threat posed by Labour, and the other two main stream parties. For different reasons they are run by people who hold democracy and the rights of individuals in deep contempt. Brexit was not a revolution, it was the opening salvo in a fight to regain the rights of the people. It might be four years before we can finish the task, but we must not falter. It may well be our last chance.
