Remember, Forget, but Learn

AE Why are we Waiting?

We have just returned from a two-week holiday in France and Germany. I have not been to the South of France since they had holes in the ground for toilets. What a change! As a user of disabled toilets I was astonished by the number and quality available. On top of superb infrastructure there were mobile signals too. Apparently, France is ungovernable the whole place a mess. I hate to admit it, but maybe the anarchists are right. The enemy of order is actually government. If an ungovernable country can operate like France, it's time we followed the example.

In Germany we stayed in Trier a city I know well as I lived there for many years. It was an elegant place. Three department stores and independent shops offering a range of excellent products. There was also Woolworth and so that the whole spectrum was catered for. Now the stores are closed and I counted two of the old first class shops standing like oasis in a desert of pound shops. Sad. Perhaps the cause was Merkel and her wrong headed mass immigration. Maybe the German economy was never as strong as the myth. Whatever the reason, a wonderful memory has gone. I'm sad, but sad too because those visiting for the first time won't enjoy what I did. It's rather like the story of a motorists asking the way in a remote Welsh village. "Go down there until where the traffic lights used to be and turn left". I need to forget the lights.

One thing we have in common with our Continental neighbours are Traffic Cones. Miles and Kilometres of them. They turn motorways into single lane B roads for no discernible reason. Mile after mile of no work, not a spade in sight. I don't know who Mr. (or Mrs.) Traffic Cone is, but s/he must surely be a descendent of Croesus.

Home to what seemed a potentially serious medical problem. I filled in the Surgeries obligatory online form. Its drop down menu was useless and I typed in the symptoms. Bizarrely, the last question was "What would you like us to do?" Later I was an given anointment to see a GP the next day. After an examination he said, "You must go to the hospital now". He phoned them and gave me a letter to the Surgical Admissions Department. "Go to A&E and they'll pick you up from there". I joined a queue snaking its way outside the building. Finally, I reached the entrance and was waived in. A man at a desk looked at my letter. Copied some of it by hand onto a form and asked me how to spell "Wood". Now with the Surgery letter and his form I entered A&E and joined another queue. At last I reached a cubicle and a window manned by one of two ladies. After confirming name address and so on, I was told to make my way to the surgical department. From observation 90% of those in A,&E were suffering from not being able see a GP.

Instant blood tests and examination. Then, wait for a scan. The machine had broken down and it was early evening before I was taken to the CT room. I was told not to eat and drink and that I would have to stay in. At midnight I was woken by two doctors. "Good news, it's not what we thought so you can eat". Then accusingly "Why do you take so few medications?" I wonder, is there a standard number of NHS pills one is supposed to swallow daily? The next morning near lunchtime a charming specialist explained that I might need an operation at some point, but it was not urgent. My wife, Aselle, rearranged her diary and drove to collect me. "You can't leave without a discharge letter". Requests to know when it would be ready were met with shrugs. Finally, I said e-mail it to me we have go. They did and it was stamped 08-Oct-2025 17:54.,

Anyone seriously in need of surgery would not have survived. I met a man whose condition unfortunately makes him a regular. "Always call an Ambulance, that way you avoid the queues". It seems as if the NHS has created barriers and obstacles that are designed to infuriate the sick and exasperate the staff. When someone came up with 'Triage' matters seemed to go downhill . The early 19th century English use of the word meant "that which is culled, picked, or thrown out". 'Sort' is a Proto Indo-European word that means "to line up". Please, apart from getting rid of governments can we stop using French. It's silly and pompous and gives the incompetent yet another excuse. I would have told them, but the lady employed to do surveys "On a score of one to ten where one is the worst and ten is the best how would you rate your experience?" was a bed away when I left.

And so catch up with the news. Jubilation. Kemi has saved the Tories. Bismark opined that the only thing we learn from history is that no one learns from it. Therefore, with apologies, a short recap. The Labour government of 1945-51 imposed as near to a communist state as it could without abolishing the vote. Successive Conservative governments did almost nothing to challenge that and ran scared of the unions. Essentially the Conservative Party has been subjected to a parasitic attack since 1951. The Parasite is the 'One Nation' group of left pro EU fake Tories. When finally the public lost patience with the Unions they backed Thatcher. They enjoyed the fruits of her true Conservatism. When Maggie woke up to the EU's real intention and said No, No, No. They put their loyalty to the EU and globalism first and stabbed her in the back. They have not changed. Liz Truss was in a hurry and suffered the same fate. Not because she was wrong, but because the threat of a successful Britain leaving the EU in its wake was more than they could bare.

The parasites are quiet and supportive. Kemi can talk the talk and they'll support her until they get back into government. And then? Do Spider Wasps change their tactics? I joined the Tory party in 1957. I resigned when Truss was politically assassinated. I have zero trust in words. I do not believe that an attempt by Kemi to turn talk into walk would be met with anything other that a knife in the back. The problem is its not Kemi's back. It's democracies. If we don't fix the mess of the last eighty years we will bequeath chaos. The Conservative Party like the Whigs must slip quietly into history and let true democrats repair the damage,
