Remember the Rwanda plan? This was, as we all know, the then Conservative Government plan to stop the armada of rubber dinghies crossing the Channel full of illegal immigrants who, by destroying all their I.D. on the way here, committed an illegal act and thus made themselves criminals rather than genuine asylum seekers.
Sadly, despite being loosely based on Australia's successful programme of sending boat loads of illegal immigrants to an offshore island, which solved the problem there within a very short time as, for those illegal immigrants, there was no point in risking all to get to Australia and being sent elsewhere. Sadly, the last Conservative Government did not take into account the army of left wing, Labour supporting lawyers gleefully doing all to sabotage the Rwanda plan. Then, just as the Government got past all the obstacles the friends of the illegals were creating, the Government, on the verge of the first flights to remove these illegals, for some insane reason, Prime Minister Sunak decided to get soaking wet outside No 10 to call a general election probably knowing he had little chance of winning. The result was a Labour landslide and Starmer, our new, utterly useless P.M., cancelled the Rwanda plan and then aimlessly and hopelessly made a real hash of this crisis.
He was going to smash the gangs, but never did, he has given France millions for them to do virtually nothing and now his new Home Secretary as, no doubt, will have little effect due to being sabotaged by her own Labour backbench M.Ps who are quite happy to ignore the wishes of their constituents and allow who knows who to come and live here at the taxpayers expense.
When we look back at the history of asylum over the last century, in the past far fewer people claimed asylum. In the days of the cold war during the 1950's and through to the collapse of East European Communism, the largest numbers claiming asylum were those escaping the tyranny of Communist regimes and other tyrannies around the world. Today some of those standing up for asylum seekers are a few Jewish people who, due to their history with persecution, oppose the deporting of the current onslaught of illegals. They point, quite fairly, the fact their parents or grandparents were rescued from the terror of the Nazi regime as children, these include some survivors who themselves were on the kinder transport, which is understandable and something every British subject should be proud of.
For those who have seen the film with Anthony Hopkins, 'One Life', which tells the true story of how a young stockbroker, Nicholas Winton, who organised and helped the rescue of over 600 Jewish children in the run up to Britain declaring war on Germany, know how moving it was. It was a film which highlights to need for genuine asylum seekers to receive help. But that is the thing, if those illegally crossing the Chanel are genuine why do they dispose of all their identities before arriving here? added to which who are they fleeing from as they are coming from France which is a safe country? Under the rules of asylum they should claim it in the first safe country they come to, and France is a safe country, so why aren't they claiming asylum from there? The answer is soft touch Britain where they will get clothed, fed and housed at no cost to themselves, unlike the long suffering taxpayers who are stumping up for their cushy lives.
Those genuine asylum seekers fleeing the Nazis and Communist regimes never hid their I.D's, it was known who they were, their names and history. For those who watched the 'One life' film would have seen how all the rescued Jewish children were fully documented, their names were recorded as well as their dates of birth and who their parents were. As to those coming now, no one has a clue who they are. They could be murderers, rapists, terrorists and serial criminals, the problem is no one knows until they revert to type and commit those crimes here, as we have seen many times. For me, locally living in Walsall, we have seen only recently in the news how a local woman was murdered by an asylum seeker after she was leaving work one night in the hotel where the Government had put him. Children are being molested, women being raped and murders are being committed by people who we have no real clue as to who they are.
For an overpopulated country such as Britain we can no longer tolerate this abuse of our taxpayers generosity, those supporting the invasion of illegals should stop and listen to what the people are saying and live in the real world. Sadly, most of them do not live near asylum hotels or have their daughters molested or raped, they do not venture into these areas and are detached from it, they preach their sermons of kindness from high altars where they cannot be victims of those who no one really knows who they are. As I have pointed out before, the moment they are in the hands of the authorities they should be sent back to France, a safe country which seems perfectly happy to export their problems to soft touch Britain that treat these criminals better than our own homeless and poor who are struggling to survive.
