The recent revelations about the behaviour of the BBC in relation to Donald Trump are merely the tip of the iceberg, and those of us who have been pointing out the blatant bias shown by this organisation over many years have been totally vindicated. It is alarming that BBC lies have angered the leader of our greatest ally, putting our alliance at risk. This was no error, or mistake, but a deliberate political act by left wing ideologues.
It gives its obvious support to the Remainers over the question of EU membership, demonises Israel at every opportunity, broadcasting what amounted to Hamas propaganda as fact, and, if challenged, and proved wrong, does almost nothing to correct the mendacious reports to which it gives uncritical coverage, even airing a so-called documentary, produced by a relative of a Hamas leader. Its refusal to refer to the terrorists as such is particularly unacceptable. The way the BBC reports this, and many other events, shows just how biased they are. When mass murderers like Hamas are quoted the BBC says "Hamas says", but when the Israelis say something the BBC says "Israel claims". When reporting what our enemies say the BBC just reports it as facts, but when Donald says something they don't like they add "without evidence" to what he has said.
It ignores the decision of the Supreme Court that biological sex is immutable, persisting in referring to male murderers, claiming to identify as women, as female. It made clear a long time ago that only one side was to be permitted to comment on the contentious issue of man made climate change. Net-zero is an insane attempt to reduce our 1% of emissions to 0%, when China, Russia, India etc. power on using fossils fuels, in pursuit of an unproven theory of global warming, which many scientists, ignored by the BBC, say is a lot of baloney. It is clearly in favour of unlimited immigration, whether legal or otherwise.
In 1984 George Orwell, one of the most brilliant political thinkers of the 20th Century, showed how the weaponisation of language could be used as a means of enabling oppression. Thanks to slogans such as "War is Peace", the existence of the Ministry of Love, dedicated to torture and execution, the creation of Newspeak and doublethink, the truth was suppressed, and the Party was able to control its citizens through psychological manipulation and propaganda.
As the BBC recruits from the same limited pool of those who share their prevailing ideology the vast majority of the staff are clearly of the same mind, while grossly overpaid celebrities have been allowed to use the BBC as a propaganda platform for their slanted views. There is no doubt as to where on the political spectrum the various national newspapers stand, and local media tends to be essentially neutral, but the BBC, which has a statutory duty to be unbiased, is no such thing. Orwell would have seen the risible 'Verify' department, and the programme "Unspun World" as nothing more than attempts to conceal the truth by hiding behind semantics, and presenting disinformation masquerading as fact.
The BBC has been biased on almost everything for decades now. It is a waste of time protesting to them, as they are so far committed to their self-righteous belief that they are always virtuous that they cannot recognise even the most egregious prejudice when it is pointed out. We have already heard from complacent, consensus politicians defending the indefensible, and the attempts by the BBC itself to blame a right wing conspiracy against it are contemptible. It is a disgrace that we are forced to pay a licence fee to support what is now just the mouthpiece of the left wing political elite, and a few high level resignations is insufficient to solve the problem, which requires root and branch reform at all levels of the organisation.
