William Rees-Mogg is a highly regarded political commentator and columnist for the Times newspaper of which he was editor from 1967 – 81.

Lord Rees-Mogg has played an important role in British public life. He had a distinguished career as a journalist with the Financial Times, Sunday Times and Times newspapers. He was also Vice-Chairman of the BBC Board of Governors, Chairman of the Arts Council and Broadcasting Standards Council.

He was Knighted in 1981 and became a Life Peer in 1988. His publications include The Great Reckoning and The Sovereign Individual.
