Why do we ape America, but so badly? Let's start with our 'big brother':

On Tuesday, an editor at Fox News (fascists!) subtitled a live feed 'WANNABE DICTATOR SPEAKS AT THE WHITE HOUSE AFTER HAVING HIS POLITICAL RIVAL ARRESTED.' The banner was taken down within seconds and the editor told to get his National Insurance card stamped or whatever they do these days ('lick 'em and stick 'em,' my father-in-law would say.) Tucker Carlson (fascist!) is deliciously scathing on Twitter about the furore and his piece has been viewed by 12.9 million (fascists!) in the first twelve hours.

Actually there were two live feeds on the Fox broadcast; President Biden on the left, Trump (orange fascist!) on the right. Trump is so evil that he must be 'denied the oxygen of publicity'; safer to rely on carefully curated reporting by trusted third parties like the Times and Telegraph, as Kathy Gyngell (freedom-loving Conservative fascist!) showed yesterday (June 15.) These newspapers, which have conveyed the truth to us since 1786 and 1855 respectively, explained that Trump's face 'darkened into a scowl' and he 'vowed revenge'; surely there was no need to repeat the detestable things he said, especially relating to his defence; why is this maniac still at large?

Regrettably, control over the news media is still not complete, even in the USA, and Forbes gave us the whole deplorable rant (thanks for the link, Kathy), in which Trump not only gave what seem to be strong legal rebuttals but had the ill manners to employ another courtroom counter known as 'tu quoque' - 'thou also didst likewise.' In fact, the ex-POTUS alleges that Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton did worse, since unlike him they did not enjoy Presidential privilege as to the declassification and retention of official secrets.

Trump told his supporters that if elected he would appoint a special prosecutor to (my words) clean the Augean stable. This raises the stakes so high that one fears the current US administration (or the people behind it) may stop at nothing to neutralise the maverick Don.

The US and UK are like bookends, except that our is smaller and shabbier.

Has Trump committed treason by keeping documents at home? Johnson ate cake! - no listen 'cause this is interesting!

No really, you have to understand: he lied to Parliament! We know this because a committee largely composed of his political opponents (on at least one momentous issue) has told us so; they just know (or at least 'found') that the untruth was deliberate.

'Tu quoque,' what's that? Keir Starmer had beer and a curry in Durham (Labour since 1922, except for one Liberal in between.) The local police found him not guilty of breaching Covid regulations as the meeting was business-related, although the Metro newspaper (fascists!) reported 'the only business listed after the dinner was for the politician to walk back to his hotel.' Still, at least he didn't lie to Parliament; unlike Tony Blair; but Tony meant well, so that's all right.

Johnson must be stopped, at any cost. There are no holds barred in the fight against Satan.
